Rural safety starts with YOU

WE HELP PROTECT THE FARMING COMMUNITY

Since 1999, Agri Securitas has a proven track record of safeguarding farming communities

To achieve its purpose, the Trust Fund is involved in several practical rural safety projects in conjunction with provincial affiliations of AgriSA, including the supplying of camera systems, radio communication systems, installation of boom gates, and trauma counselling etc.

With the funds available to the trust fund, the board of trustees prioritises farmer associations that had not applied before, as well as farmer associations in high-risk areas. In this regard the trust fund could in 2023, support 32 rural safety projects at farmer association level country wide, improving the lives and livelihood of almost 6 760 farmers and 450 000 farmworkers and their dependents.

The focus in funding is currently mainly on camera systems, which are according to feedback the most successful deterring and tracking mechanism by monitoring movement in an area and identifying suspicious vehicles and persons.  It also assists farmers in identifying veldfires before they spread so that the necessary measures can be taken to contain or extinguish them. The editor of Landbouweekblad on 4 February 2022, wrote; “The spiderweb security cameras installed across the country have suddenly made rural areas manageable again. Through careful budgeting and with the assistance of Agri SA’s Securitas Trust Fund, among others, this has been one of South Africa’s greatest successes over the past 20 years.”

The Good Morning Breakfast, weekdays, 06:00 - 09:00,'s latest patent, the #BakkieArm, will not only protect your arm from the sun, but OFM also intends to sell it to raise funds for Agri Securitas, the organisation dedicated to protecting rural communities since 1991. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to Agri Securitas.
